1: The wonders of Sydney 28 secs
Hello all,

Apologies for our delay in getting our next entry out - a mixture of being very busy/lazy in Australia and then arriving in the craziness of Bangkok with very slow internet connections!! Now in Phuket having the time of our lives. But will save that for the next entry....

We last left off at the end of New Zealand where we bid a sad farewell to our campervan and honestly thought nowhere else could beat our NZ experience... However, we were wrong as Australia brought even more fun and happy times in the form of Melbourne and Sydney.

Melbourne was just beautiful - a very easy and managable city to get around and explore. We stayed with my (Amy's) friends from university, and it was so great and slightly strange to see people we knew for the first time in over three months! So great to have Melbournians to show us around as well, and we were thoroughly spoilt - going to dinners, drinking the best coffee we've ever had, visiting markets and polo tournaments!! It was a refreshing change to not have to make any decisions either and just be taken around!! We also treated ourselves to a movie and experienced Melbourne's gold class cinemas!! - this crazy movie theatre with butler serivce at your seat - chairs that turn into beds and fish and chips brought to your seat half way through... insane...

After 5 nights, we said goodbye to the girls and to Melbourne, and had just one more incredible coffee from Leroy's...before boarding our flight to Sydney. As soon as we arrived we knew we were going to love our 5 days here. It just had such an amazing atmosphere and vibe - Sydney felt like it had all the comforts of home, and had breathtaking sights that you just couldn't stop staring at. We started off staying at Bondi beach and had the most gorgeous weather for our beach day - I think we could have stayed in Bondi for a good week, but the next day we were off again to a hotel nearer the centre of town. We did all the typical touristy Sydney things, but could not have enjoyed them more. The Opera House tour was incredible and our visit to Taronga zoo was a definite highlight. Walking around Darling Harbour and The Rocks was also amazing and we loved just walking through the city - it reminded us of New York a lot. We finished off our Sydney leg by walking across the Harbour bridge at night and what an amazing, magical way to say goodbye. Sydney was the first place on our whole trip that we really found very difficult to leave...just a breathtaking, beautiful city.

So, we boarded our flight to Thailand and the last month of our trip.. The Thai Airways flight was absolutely incredible!! After the last 5 weeks of easily travelling around New Zealand and Australia, with no language barrier and no culture shock, we were definitely ready for a new challenge - and what better than South East Asia! Thailand, followed by Vietnam and then Cambodia before flying home for Christmas in Flamstead, and a very important hen party and wedding....!! We will of course send you updates from our Asian adventures. We have been in Thailand for 3 days and have already experienced tuk-tuks, monsoons and very unforgettable Thai massages...

Lots of love one and all,
A and A xx

What a horrible thing to ask!!!! You both look so tanned and well. When you get home it will be a bit of a culture shock. We're expecting some snow showers this weekend - very different to Sydney!
