First stop - Bangkok

Hi everyone!

Well after a long flight (with little sleep) we have arrived safely in bangkok. After nagivating our way through their local bus system, and a peak hour drive into town (not the best timing) we checked into the Park Hotel, and were luckily enough be able to check in at 9am! After some room service (yum!) and a well deserved snooze, we set off into the hustle and bustle. We lasted about an hour in the hot humid conditions and now we are finding refuge in a huge air conditioned 7 story shopping centre! Tomorrow we plan on checking out the city a little more and then catching an overnight train up to chang mai.

So, just a short one to let you know that we're here and we're safe. We're now off to find some food and then back to the airconditioned hotel room to catch up on some more much-needed sleep!

Concern over your deteriorating appearance
You have both let yourselves go. I mean standards out the window. I hope they were designer sandles you were wearing. It is strange to see you both in another country. It looks like fun and it certainly shows on your faces. Hope it is going well. Dad/Peter
