Leon
A city after my own heart!So my trip is winding to an end. It is sad but true. I am now in my hostel in Managua preparing for my flight back for the states which leaves in a little over twelve hours. After a very long journey through El Salvador and southern Honduras last week I returned Nicaragua to spend a few days in the colonial city of Leon. It is a marvelous city with a strong and vibrant pulse. The architecture again is truly amazing with cathedrals beyond that of the imagination. They stand so tall and hold such incredible history. After a few days in Leon I hooked up with a group of eight other solo travelers and we all headed out for some relaxation time on the beach. The lovely beach is a quick 45 minute bus ride from Leon and is an absolute paradise. I spent the days soaking up the sun and my last days in Central America. It has been quite a journey, one full of many unknowns, full of experiences, full of beauty, full of new people and new places. This was my solo journey through the wilds of Central America and I made it. Solo travel is a
completely different experience with different rewards and different challenges and I love it. Although I wasn't completely alone, Ihad all of you with me along for the ride. Great adventure you had this summer. I am glad to inform you I read each episode you posted here and brough lots of memories from my travels in these countries. I bet you will come back home feeling like the time stoped in your home town while you were gone. Have a fun fall season and good luck to you.
