Spotted on the side of the road. Only one seen!
We are now out on the coast. A mutual thought between us was that we really do like being near the ocean .

MISSION BEACH

We wasted no time in getting to a seafood restaurant that night. Very pleasant. Three nights here and that means two days. This area is renowned for its rain. Nearby Tully is the wettest town in the country. It was warm at around 28 deg but often overcast. We liked it a lot. Spoke to Coxy and got the address of his block to have a look at it. He and jan plan to build a house for the winter months in Melbourne. Nice level block close to the sea and 'jungle' at the back.

The first day was spent at Paronella Park and Innisfail for some shopping and a look around. Innisfail was larger than we expected. Quite a pleasant country town in the heart of sugar cane territory.

Day two was down to Cardwell to see what we would find. Port Hinchinbrook came on the radar and so in we went. A bit like Sanctuary

Cove . Naturally, being lunch time, it was compulsory to have a meal and a drink overlooking the Marina and Hinchinbrook Island.

ROLLINGSTONE

Situated 180 km south of Mission Beach and just 60 km north of Townsville we found the Rollingstone Beach van park right on the waterfront. We have the biggest site I've ever seen and we are only using half of it! Another two day stay. The park has a magnificent pool area right in front of us. I is only five years old so everything is newish and development still happening.

Yesterday we took a drive down to Townsville and boy did we get a pleasant surprise. It is the jewell of the North. There are kilometres of landscaped foreshore overlooking the beach and Magnetic Island. We have tagged Townsville as a 'must return' destination. A week would be really nice.

Today it has been housekeeping in the park. A very pleasant 25 deg so no hassles being outside for meals etc. You know, washing, cleaning, etc. the stuff I always do!!

Noel and Jan are calling in to stay the night.

They have been right to the top of the Cape and are coming down from Cairns today.

Tomorrow its down the road to Airlie Beach as we make our way back to Brisbane by the 8th September to have the pins removed from Rhonda's wrist.
