Yes another place of beautiful beaches! After a 12 hour bus trip to Sao Paulo where we didn't stop (we were actually advised by Brazillians not to stop, it's a concrete jungle and I swear I saw snow when I woke on the bus in the middle of the night, but no-one believes me, I KNOW I saw it!) we changed buses for Paraty. Arrived in the middle of a giant thunder storm. We stayed in the historic centre, which was absolutely gorgeous. It's a small Portuguese colonical town, with stone cobbled streets and simple one story plainly painted, but very attractive, houses. Wooden panel shutters on the windows. It is a UNESCO site, beacuse it's so unspoilt and unique. It's also a fishing port and there were some lovely beaches a short bus trip away in Trindade. Unfortunately my camera was out of battery and my charger doesn't work so I didn't get many pictures. There was a Brazillian guy staying there called William (apparently his surname was Wallace), but I seriously doubt it. We discovered later he was a habitual liar and he was a bit of a Jekyll and Hyde personality, so we spent much time trying to avoid him! We did all in all have a great time though. The weather wasn't great unfortunately and I still couldn't swim due to the wound on my back. We went to a Favela Funk party with a load of people we have met and have been travelling with for a while which was great fun. Still waiting for my first Samba night though! It's very expensive by South American standards in Brazil though apparently the north is cheaper. Portuguese isn't progressing to well.

Hi David I have not forgotten about you and have read all of your blogs in one sitting. I am so jealous. I wish I was travelling with you. You make it sound so amazing and your humour really shines through. I ad to look up what you had said about your back as I had never hear of it. Amazing thing the internet. All I can say is ouch and you must be very hairy!! Perhaps you can get a braziilian while you are there! hahahahah.. Very busy with the cookstudio and catering. Made a decision recently only to work for clients who are willing to pay my full price and no more freebies. This decision came from having a head on car crash two weeks ago. I was lucky to walk away with no injuries. Car is a bit trashed though!!!It makes you look at life very differently. Have the best time ever as you never know when it is not going to be there anymore! Look forward to the next installment. Big kiss Juliaxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
