In Scotland...and it's cold and wet!

Hello everyone...good to hear all is ok back home....which seems a long way off right now! It is 9.15 am here in Stirling and I am at the tourist info place. I will be heading up to Edinburgh later and will be going to the Tattoo tonight....hopefully anyway because they have predicted heavy rain tonight!
Had some lovely surprises in Stirling....I was met by two friends when I got here who took me out for a drive in the afternoon and then to tea that night. Yesterday I bought a ticket on the hop on hop off bus and went out to the Wallace monument. It is a huge tower and I climbed the 246 steps to the top....great views but you know me with heights!...I was glad to get down. Then I rang another friend and he picked me up and took me for an amazing drive out to some loch...it was a bit scarey at times...long windy one lane road to nowhere! But we got back safely and we then went and had a lovely dinner at an Indian restaurant which was a great experience.
Scotland is cold and also a bit wet! If this is the height of their summer I really wouldn't want to be here in winter!
I sent off some emails last Friday...did yous get them? Also Courtney and Bridget I really haven't bought yous much yet because most of the places I have been to are more tourist orientated and I know yous aren't interested in souvineers. I haven't had time to do any proper shopping. Thirsk was only a tiny village and since I have been here I have been out too much. Tell me what yous would like. Trouble is it can't be too big as my port is already getting heavy. I will try in Edinburgh this afternoon or will leave it till I get to London.
Well I can't think of any more news other than to say I am having a good time and miss everyone.

edinburgh rains
I was just in edinburgh the other day and it was pouring down rain. Funny we were probably there the same time as you. I just joined a travel site baraaza.com where you can review destinations and travel tips and upload photos. It is still in private beta but anyone can join. It's freezing in the Tropics!
Sounds as if you are having a great time Louise, seeing and doing lots. I hope the rain eased so you could enjoy the tattoo. We're having really cold weather here lots of snow down south, someone even said that they had snow at Eungella! We move (again) back down to Dad's place this weekend.
