Greetings from Paris,
We ventured over to the Picasso museum this morning and saw a stunning presentation of Picasso paintings, a vast collection, a veritable feast for the eyes of women and torro's. I could go on and on. I loved it.
Then, after a wonderful sandwich I made myself back at our apartment with chorizo, parma ham, tomato and oil and vinegar, we took a gander at the Marché aux Puces, an antique market in Paris. Our timing was bad though, and by the afternoon on a monday in August there were not great venders open. There was a huge disparity between the high roller shops and the shops du crap. We finally found one market with cool stuff in our price range, but didn't find anything we were crazy enough about to buy.
In the evening we made our way up to Montmartre where we tried the Chez Chartier restaurant. That atmosphere was great but we were really disappointed with the food. While it was fairly cheap it didn't compare to Le Deux Magot or our favorite place on Ledru Rollin. Robyn's escargot were tiny and hard to even get out of the shells they were so small and buried deep. My steak tartar was lame by comparison to the one I had at Le Deux Magot a year and a half ago.
Overall, just too touristy too. Service was pretty awful as well. Won't be back, not worth my valuable Paris time and money.
Still, I won't let it kill my god given flair for enjoying Paris!!! A bientot!
