Today we decided that we had had enough of being lazy and sitting around so we decided to stroll to the south of the island to see what was happening in the other bay. We set off at around 11am and headed towards a restaurant to have breakfast. After switching from a concrete road to a gravel path and finally just piles of boulders to scramble over we regretted to decision to walk in Flip flops and to carry a shoulder bag, but we got over it and made our way from little cove to little cove, stopping for water and rest at a few resorts along the way. We met a couple going the other direction, fully kitted out with hiking boots, walking sticks and serious expressions. They seemed quite bemused to find us coming the other way, prepared for nothing!

After navigating our way south we finally found the beach we had set out for and whilst Ollie relaxed in a quiet little café Mark went for a little swim. Luck was not on his side, and hasn’t been for a while where his feet are concerned. He came back a little while later having stood neatly on the only sharp piece of coral in the bay and sliced a little chunk out of his foot. No big worries though, and no stitches this time. He was soon bandaged up and we set out for home, taking the main route this time and arriving back in much better time!

In the evening we went out for a nice meal and enjoyed the beach atmosphere at night.
