LM's Cat Basil (Female) First Two Weeks of Holiday
This is our first blog entry. After selling and moving all of our stuff during the last week in June, we left for LM's family farm to drop off and leave our two cats there. We decided to spend 5 days on the farm to help the cats get used to the environment.
We ate like kings and went on a few game drives which where great: we saw Rhinos, Sables, Lechwe's Roan Antelope, Giraffes, etc. The cats, however, did not have such a good time. They were stuck in their very cold new house and were too scared to venture outside. After the initial first 3 days, they would come outside to the edge of the house and then run back inside if they spotted any movement or noise, of which there are many on the farm.
It was extremely sad to say goodbye to them. 😞 We hope that they will acclimatise soon and enjoy it on the farm. After speaking to the people on the farm yesterday it sounds like they are becoming more social.
After this, we left to go and visit our folks in Bloemfontein. We stayed
Calvin
Bernhard's Cat for 3 days and had a good time.
Cape Town
Bernhard's cousin Andrea got married in Stellenbosch just outside of Cape Town on the 12th. We flew down to Cape Town and stayed for the first two nights near the waterfront. Had some good wine, and bought the last of our trip's stuff over there.
The wedding was amazing. They married on stage in a theatre, and had the theatre made up Las Vegas style. The minister that married them was dressed up as Elvis, and was brilliant. It was most definitely the most original wedding we have both ever been at.
The reception was at a wine farm, brilliant food, brilliant music; generally a great time. Bernhard saw family from the US that he had not seen for ages, so it was an all over good time spent in CT. Unfortunately, we forgot both our cameras in Johannesburg, so we have no photos of Cape Town or the wedding, which is quite sad since Cape Town is looking so good at the moment.
We are back in Pretoria, the last leg of admin and errands to run, people to see and accounts to close.
Next week it's off to Mozambique, which will be the next blog entry as well.
Adios!

Basil lookks exactly the same as my cat! They are extremly similar, the only difference is Basil has smaller wiskers, and slightly different coloured eyes.
