River Wey
horses by the river Wey on the way to Godalming / caballos en el rio Wey de camino a Godalming That's it...I'm officially unemployed... and so happy about it!!! I had my last shift (from hell thanks to this new 2 for 1 vouchers!!) yesterday... and it "only" lasted 13.5 hours so you can imagine why I am so happy...
I haven't yet understood completely that I am free, that I don't have to work any more for a long, long time and that, from now on, I can do what I want when I want (except for the little detail of Dax still working... germans, you know... they can't help it!!!).
We'll be leaving England in 8 days and I have a mix of emotions: I feel relieved that I don't have to serve tables any more; exited about the coming weeks in Spain and the prospect of long sunny days and tasty home made meals; impatient to get finally on the bikes; sad about leaving my friends behind for so long (would they forget about us??), but, above all, I feel extremely happy that, after so much dreaming, planing and saving, we are really starting the engine to fulfill one of our dreams: see the world.
I am not sure why I had this urge to see
what's out there, I just know I've had it since I was a confused teenager in a small close-minded city; I know that the travel bug won't die when I start this trip, or when I finish it, I guess it will only become bigger, but I'm hoping that this experience will teach me how to be less obsessed about it and maybe stop hanging maps in every room of my house... yes, including bathroom and kitchen!!.
So, after 6 years I say farewell to England; my mind hasn't realized that this is not just another holiday to Spain or Germany to visit family... this is IT!!!, but I guess it will take me a few weeks to get used to it. By now, I give you some pictures of this fantastic country that has given me so much...
I see you all out there!!! Me despido, Inglaterra
