Happy 4th of July.

I am writing this now for the 2nd time because the internet connection just lost my blog entry. So here we go, I will try to recreate.

I am now in Tirana, Albania and wanted to wish everyone a happy holiday. This has been quite an adventure so far and we are having a fabulous time. Here is a short and quick overview of what we have done so far.

Plane from Stuttgart to Zagreb, Croaita. Few hours to see the sights and eat a large plate of meat. Watched Spain win their seat in the final match of the Euro Cup against Germany. Overnight train from Zagreb to Split.

Saw the sights in Split, ate half a watermelon from the market. Beautiful palace on the water. Gorgeous beaches out of town. Stayed at a cool hostel. Partied all night with some Swedish guys.

Missed the early morning ferry to Korcula because we partied too hard with the Swedish guys. Took a later one and then a bus to Korcula town for an hour. Korcula Town is beautiful, small old town, beautiful church - saw a fancy English wedding there. Stayed at the One Love Hostel. Swam on the beach. Tried risotto with fish, fantastic.

Bus from Korcula to Dubrovnik. Had a fabulous birthday hiking around the old town and walked the entire outside wall of the old town. Got sunburned. Decided to go swimming on the rocks at a hole in the wall (literally) bar. Beautiful. Watched Spain beat Germany. Won 100 Euros in my bet back in Karlsruhe. Went to visit the island Lokrum off the coast of Dubrovnik. Nature preserve with peacocks. Swam on the beautiful rocks. Fell asleep in the sun. Climbed to a fortress, saw an old monestary.

Bus from Dubrovnik to Kotor. Tried to call our friend, but to no avail. Rented out a room for the night and climbed the fortress the next day, beautiful small old town. Took a bus to Budva, swam on the beach. Didnt find our tour to Tirana that we wanted.

Bus from Budva to Bar. Bus from Bar to Ulcinj. Barely made the mini bus from Ulcinj to Shkoder, Albania. Easy crossing, paid 10 Euros - got a stamp. Took a furgon (mini van bus pick up service, very interesting crowded and hot) to Tirane. Met our friends sister and father. Ate fabulous albania food. Now touring the city.

We are going overnight to Athens tonight on a bus. Long bus ride ahead. THen to Naxos Island for 3 days and then I am off to Valencia, Spain for 5 days.

12 days till NYC!

See you soon, I promise some fabulous long blogs about each city when I get home, just thought I would send an update. Taking a TON of pictures, no worries!
