1: trip across the boarder 10 secs
After our cooking class we went across the boarder and into cambodia. I won't lie to you I was starting to get a bit overwhelmed by the Thailand travelling experience and was dying for a change of pace....I certainly got it. 5 hours from bangkok to the poi pet boarder, you see the black and white photos in my blog i thought i would be artistic. So we waited for people to get there visas done the walked across to the bus on the other side which drove us to our taxi and a 3 hour journey across dirt roads. I personally loved the experience, but i can see why people don't love the road. I won't rattle on too much as we stayed in siem reap and saw the temples everyone sees. but i must say they are amazing even for the average temple traveller..Ankor is simply amazing. We hired a tour guide on the first day and it was well worth it as he was able to explain all the hindu carvings and the history of the temples. That night we visited a quite colourful night club which was a bit of an eye opener. After siem reap

I would have loved to do a bit more travelling in cambodia but time really wasn't on our side. The next day in siem reap we took it a bit easy as our holiday was winding down with a trip back to Bangkok, Phuket and home.

I must enclose one story of the bus ride back to bangkok. picture dirty and dusty roads in 40 degree heat... dust swirling around the inside of the bus. The lady infront of us stupidly had her window open so our noses and mouths were full of red dust... the lady didn't seem to notice the people behind her (everyone else closed their window) As it happened we fell asleep un aware of the trucks that roamed the dirt road spraying water to limit the dust in the air. unfortunalety for sonia we passed on the right hand side of one of these truck who sprayed water (not clean water mind you) straight through the open window on to a sleeping sonia. Like a sleeping person with a bucket of cold water thrown on them what proceeded was the funniest scene of the whole trip... where was the camera haha. The people on

the bus chukkled to them selves but were very nice offering us baby wipes and the woman infrount (still dry) kindly closed her window.

Phuket -- last day... didn't really warrent another blog so i will just tag it here. Sonia and I parted ways in bangkok and i managed to get my suit after panicking a bit over the delivery it came a 10pm the night before i left. Sonia is now off to china for which i wish her alot of luck and a safe trip, It has definately been a exciting holiday and I think we pushed each other well... maybe I would have skipped that cooking school but it turned out to be one of the highlights. It was great travelling with someone who loves to try everything and has a great passion for travel like myself.. And to share some of those random experiences that don't belong in the blog like some of those nightclubs haha!
