My legs' natural beauty is ruined, ruined ...
I noticed this morning that my ankles, in particular my left one, have borne the brunt of one or more mosquito attacks since I got here. No irritating itching, just a rather ugly looking pair of ankles. The rest of me is unscathed at this point, hopefully not just due to luck.

I figured it was time to get an Indian SIM for my mobile phone, so I set off to Connaught Place in search of one. Connaught Place is Delhi's main shopping area and is often considered as the centre of the city - distances are often measured "from CP". Unfortunately virtually all the shops were closed because it was Sunday, a fact not mentioned in my guidebook (the closed aspect, not what day it was). Some places were open, mainly luggage shops and Western menswear emporia, neither of which appeared promising for a SIM card. I traipsed back to Paharganj and, crossing my fingers, went into a dodgy-looking cellphone store.

It seems as though my main problem is going to be unlocking my phone - currently you can't put a non-T-mobile SIM in it, as the handset is locked to T-mobile. I tried Googling for the code

but it only seems to be available for a price. I'll try some more places tomorrow to see if anyone is dodgy enough to know the code. The alternative is simply to buy a new phone, which would only be about $40 but would still be unnecessary expenditure as well as meaning I'll have 2 phones and chargers to cart around with me. I don't think I can do without a phone, so this will need to be resolved one way or the other. It's amazing how some things can slip through the net even after 2.5 months of planning.

Rather boringly, this is the sum total of my day, though I did spend a lot of hours getting this blog up to date. Even the unemployed deserve a day off occasionally.
