After leaving Cambodia and heading to Vietnam I spent a few days in Saigon not really doing too much, saw a few museums, got ripped off, the usual. I also did a bit of shopping and trying not to get hit by people on motorbikes, not the easiest of tasks. It was so hot in Saigon that i had to finally break the bank and stay in a room with a/c. The first night i stayed i tossed and turned through sweaty sheets until around 6am when i was finally able to sleep till around 8, that was when i made the decision to spring the extra couple of bucks to get the chilled room. after that i didn't really do much but sleep and hang out in my room trying not to bake. After a few days of that i decided to head out of the city for a couple of days and settled on Da Lat. It was a pretty nice town, alot cooler then Saigon, and it had some things to do but all and all it was just nice to get away from the traffic and to relax and not have to worry about getting hit by a motor vechicle. Stayed there a couple of days and then went back to Saigon to pick up my dad and my sister. It was really nice to see them and it was also nice to stay in a hotel that cost over 10 dollars. Since they've been here i have been doing nothing but staying at the nicest hotels and eating at the plushed resturants. I know that its not really "traveling" but it is nice to have a break from my usual diet of street food and cheap beer. After a day at the saigon airport (by a day i mean about 12 hours) where we had to cancel a flight and book a flight for the next day (argh!!) we finally arrived in Hanoi, and we have been plesantly surprised at how cool it is here. Walked around the town today and had a few beers; the usual. Will be doing some sightseeing tomorrow and then heading to Halong bay on Sunday. Can't wait!!
