the last boat post

Well, this will be my last post from the boat. We are all packed and ready to go. We had closing ceremonies today in which everyone cried and exchanged contact information. We just threw a bottle off the side of the boat with messages from everyone in the community inside...wouldn't it be cool if it washed ashore someday?

Tomorrow morning my shuttle leaves at 10:30. We have to check out, pay our debts, return our keys and collect our passports so it will be an early morning to get everything accomplished. I don't have a place to stay for the night in Amsterdam so it might be an all nighter, or sleeping at the train station. It's not the first time for either so I'll be fine...I'll write a proper blog in a couple of days when I'm safe and happy in the south of France!

It's been a crazy 4 months. China, Thailand, India, South Africa, Spain, Turkey and now Europe... amazing people, amazing experiences and amazing memories!

Hey ya Megan! I have been enjoying your blog since I disembarked from the ship in January, and I cannot believe that it is already the time for you to go back to the life on a ground. As I could see from some of your posts, it seems like we had some similar activities on board, which always made me miss my life on the ship. Thanks for keeping up your fascinating blog posts during your trip! Also, congrats on finishing up with your on-board academic work! I hope that we can see each other and talk about the boat life/experience at ports of calls some day xox
