A mushy entry. Because I haven’t done this much, and dammit, I am in the mood for one!
I’m sitting here listening to an acoustic version of Crush by the Dave Matthews Band. I made a CD for Ken before I left—the My Baby Left Me Mix (how cheesy am I?)—and this song was on it. And for some reason it’s bringing me to tears now.
Maybe it’s because I miss Ken so much. And I am so incredibly excited to spend time with him again. I’ve spent all morning online looking for stuff for us to do together this summer.
Or maybe it’s because I feel so lucky to have him home waiting for me (even though he makes up stories about torturing my cat). How many people have that in a relationship? Better yet, how many women have a man who supports her going to the other side of the world for 6 months and then moving several states away for a job, with the agreement that he will follow her shortly thereafter? How many women have a male partner who puts her career before his own? How many women have boyfriends playing them old school rap songs through Skype?
I had a dream about an ex last night for some reason. A distant ex. Maybe that’s got me thinking of all the men I dated who said they were prepared to be a supportive partner, that they wanted to support me in my work, but when things got tough or serious they weren’t tough enough to handle it. I’m not sure Ken thinks of himself as a strong person all the time, but in terms of being a partner, he’s the strongest I’ve met. When things are difficult or hard or 5000 miles away, he steps it up.

i have read most of your articles and really loved the way you describe our nepal , yes am a nepali too but did my schooling in india , your articles reminds me more of SAMRAT UPADHIYA'S ARRESTING GOD IN KATHMANDU , its got alot of short stories and they are all as beautiful as your articles, where are you these days , do write to me sometimes would love to hear from you , reading your articles am sure your a humble , sweet and more over beautiful person , god bless
