I did it!I did it!I did it!

I swim across the mighty Mississippi River.
It was a great feeling when I finished swimming across the Mississippi River, to fulfill my to-do-list-before-I-die. Even though it was at the Headwaters, MN, where the Mississippi River is only about 30 feet wide, but of course I did "Swim across the Mississippi River" (check).

The Mississippi Headwaters is located in the Itasca State Park under the Minnesota Dept. of Natural Resources. There is a wooden sign to signify the headwaters,

HERE 1475 FT ABOVE THE OCEAN THE MIGHTY MISSISSIPPI BEGINS TO FLOW ON ITS WINDING WAY 2552 MILES TO THE GULF OF MEXICO.

"Mississippi" is way harder to spell than "Amazon" or "Nile". LOL.

I did it too
I swam across the Mississippi River with my hands cuffed behind my back and my legs shackled, from Moline, Illinois to Bettendorf, Iowa on my fiftieth birthday, September 2nd 1994. The low down burg of Moline, Illinois gave me a tcket for my efforts.

Congratulations
I also swam across the Mississippi River, from Moline, IL to Bettendorf, Iowa, fifteen years ago, on my fiftieth birthday. My hands were cuffed behind my back and my legs were shackled. Instead of giving me the key to the city for my daring feat, the evil backwater burg of Moline gave me a damned ticket.
