When I woke up today I had absolutely no desire to go to Christ Orphanage. This is the first morning this has happened to this extent. However, I did go, and I'm obviously glad I went. Rudolph, the 8 year old who was sent to the ER yesterday, is fine. They're not quite sure what was wrong with him but he is doing amazing today which is wonderful. Seeing what he was like yesterday was really scary.
Raymond the headmaster taught the youngest class today and, as always, did a phenomenal job. He went around to each child and made them introduce themselves in English to the rest of the class. Each time a kid completed this task we did this funny little applause thing that is honestly one of the cutest things I've ever seen. It's like a clap clap clapclapclap and then you point to the kid receiving praise and say "For YOUUUUUUU." They frequently clap for themselves and say "For MEEEEE," and I've also heard "For JESUSSSSSS."
I played with Linda a lot today but she doesn't seem to be getting "Sister Kacie." I'm going to keep trying because I'm positive she can do it. During class today she actively participated when everyone was speaking Ewe. Raymond saw her level of participation and rewarded her with a sticker. When I saw her smile it warmed my heart and I almost started crying, so you can imagine how I felt when she took the sticker off of her (very filthy) dress and gave it to me. Love that girl.
I also spent a lot of time with another one of my favorites, Happy. This little girl (probably three or four) has the most BEAUTIFUL smile of ANYONE I've ever seen. And she really does live up to her name. Unless she is sick or hurt, she is honestly always happy.
After Christ we got home, ate lunch, and I took a nap. I've never been so hot and tired. The power went out this afternoon like usual and I immediately noticed it. Not because of the fact the lights were off, but my fan shut off when the power went off and I woke up immediately. I was really cranky.
Ran errands the rest of the afternoon (getting fabric, getting clothes made, etc.) For dinner at night we were supposed to have ground nut soup, but we ran out of gas for our stoves. Grace, our wonderful, sweet, super friendly cook felt absolutely awful. She took it upon herself to go into town, get more gas, and made us our soup after we ate our noodles. People here are over the top friendly.
We're going out to Malaysia's tonight for one of Pete and Michelle's last night as they leave for Morocco on Saturday. I am going to miss them so much it's crazy.
Hope everything is going well back in the states!

HEY KACIE!!!!!
Sounds like everything is going good for you. I am reading your blog daily and enjoying it. Mom talked about coming for Kennedy's 1st birthday, do you believe she will be one the end of the month. She is walking and really trying to talk. Allison is due here the middle of May and doing good. She is also expecting a girl. We all plan on coming home for a weekend the summer for a get together like last year. Can't wait to see your pics and hear your fun stories. Love ya lots!!! Kenny and Laurie
