Our flight arrived late Thurs night into Christchurch - took the shuttle to our hostel just outside the centre. Very friendly place (although we suspected it was a converted old people's home!). Jetstar had failed to feed us in economy so we were starving but nothing was open! Cookies it was.

Friday Sel got up real early (shock horror) to meet Toby at the airport but unfortunately his plane was delayed because of some crazy woman on another flight stabbing the pilot (all happens in NZ). Anyway after a few more hours eargerly waiting, Tob & Sel were finally reunited after nearly 3.5 months! Happy day :-)

Saturday was a bit of a lazy one, wandered around town - Vic went to see a kiwi! Saw some painful street entertainers with crowds much bigger than they deserved! Then in the afternoon went punting down the river. Weather was nice and sunny but Sel (always cold) still insisted on borrowing an old granny blanket for her legs on the boat! Had great burgers for dinner, washed down with a few beers at an Irish Bar with a live band.

Sunday we took a ride on the gondola up to Port Hill - stunning views of Christchurch and surrounding area. See pics.

Monday - took local bus to the beach, spent a couple of hours chilling out catching some rays then went back into town for a Souvlaki dinner (Toby went a bit crazy with the Turkish Delight...) The evening was nicely ended in a trendy wine bar.

Tuesday was another early one - Sel & V bus to Queenstown & Toby flight back to Napier.......til next time
