Hello again everyone! We're at the beginning of another half-term here in England. We've decided not to go traveling this week since we're saving up for a two week trip to Italy in April. Well, more accurately, we've decided not to go traveling on our own dime. We leave for Germany early Monday morning for an 'inspection' trip! We're going to Cologne and Boppard to 'inspect' the locations that we're bringing 45 students to in June for Activities Week. It's a "vacation" so to speak that we aren't paying for! We're traveling with another teacher that we work with and we have a rental car to drive around to the necessary locations. However, Bri has been registered as the driver. Ah crap! Not only have neither of us driven since August (not to mention that we don't speak or understand German so road signs may be an issue), but we have also become accustomed to the crazy English driving on the WRONG side of the road. The Germans drive on the PROPER side of the road like back home. Hopefully driving is like riding a bike and hopefully Bri doesn't decide to drive on the left!
Today we went to Oxford for the day. We've been there before, back in October, but this time we went and spent an entire afternoon. Oxford is a beautiful city, home to one of the world's leading academic institutions, the University of Oxford. The University campus looks like it's straight out of a Harry Potter story! It was a beautiful day and we spent the afternoon wandering the streets and doing lots of shopping! We walked through the popular covered market which is a market that is outdoors but indoors at the same time, if that makes any sense! Also, we made our first visit to an AMAZING department store called Primark. Cheap prices and good clothing! We came home with a huge bag full of stuff! We bought ourselves University of Oxford sweatshirts and had a bite to eat in a small cafe before catching the bus back home. Tomorrow we're heading into Milton Keynes. Milton Keynes is known for its huge shopping centre and for the Xscape which houses an indoor ski slope. The snow is artificial of course, because we haven't seen any real snow in this part of England yet this year! We're looking forward to Friday as well. A friend of ours from university will be in England and we'll be meeting up with him in England. We can't wait to see you Wilson!
Anyway, that's all for this week. We miss you! Only 5 months and 6 days until the end of the school year and then we'll be home!

The bridge is often referred to as the Bridge of Sighs because of its supposed similarity to the famous bridge of the same name in Venice. It's real name is the Hertford Bridge and was built in 1914.
