Last night we ate supper at Cajun Cowboy's. I had shrimp etoufee with fried okra. Kerry decided to try 2 kinds of boudin and fried gulf shrimp. It was pretty tasty, but we both suffered with heartburn at bedtime.

It was really cold this morning, around freezing. We stayed pretty warm overnight due to a small heater and down comforters. It sure was hard to get out of bed, especially since we had to turn off the heater to turn on the coffeemaker.

We drove through Houston on our way to San Antonio. We lived in Houston for five years and only left there 32 years ago. And yet, nothing looked familiar. Okay, a few street names seemed to ring a long-ago bell, but mostly it was like we had never been there. It is a huge city with tangles of overpasses and interchanges and many lanes of traffic. We are most grateful we don't live in a big city anymore.

We got into San Antonio ahead of the rush hour traffic and set up at the KOA. We plan to stay two nights and see the sights of San Antonio tomorrow at our leisure.

I love your blog. I can honestly say it is the best blog I've ever seen, but keep in mind it is the only blog I've ever seen. It looks like your trip is going well and you are certainly making good time. With your being all the way down in San Antonio, why don't ya'll ease on down to the coast for a few days, should be warm that far south, no? Please drive safely and remember to always beware the red-headed mexican.
