Yum Yum...Yum Yum...Yum Yum...

Meal for one please.
Hi all,
Well ......where do we start? After emotional farewells at Heathrow we boarded our Quantas flight to Bangkok. Stu wriggled all the way! But 10 hours soon passed. We were hit by 30+ degs of heat and humidity and the Bangkok traffic. But we followed the advice we were given and got into the right taxi. The Veingtai Hotel was a welcome site. Its grand entrance unfortunately did not extend to the rooms, but it was clean and comfortable and suited all our needs.
We ventured out into neighbouring Khoa San Rd. OK so it's all tourist tatt but we only had 'one night in Bangkok' (by Murrayhead early 80's one hit wonder!....esp for Mark and Tracey). We needed a few Chang beers to relax into it, but then it was all good. We feasted on street stall pad thai and spring rolls, with some cockcroaches as dinner guests. We mixed with the local children playing games of 'thumb war' for 20Bt.
After a good sleep and a mighty breakfast of spicy pork and rice at the hotel we headed back to the airport for our flight to Hanoi.
So far it has been everything we hoped for and we

We wanted to put some photos on at this stage but the computer is very slow...will add them at a later date so look back in a few days!
