It's been 4.5 months now i've been away and to be perfectly honest it's turning into a bit of an endurance test until Ben and Sarah arrive on March 3rd (and Aimee on the 26th). I miss, not the country or the culture, but the people i left behind, ie you. It's not that i'm not having a great time or that i'm not seeing beautiful things etc, its as you would image i haven't spent any time with people i love in a long time, acquaintances are great, but i miss close friends.
However. Its been amazing weather for the last 2 or 3 weeks (almost too hot), at the same time the UK is flooded so maybe im not that home-sick.
Why am i feeling so sorry for myself while you guys are up to your knees in muddy water? I blame Levin.
i was in Levin for 2 weeks in the end, a town with Nothing. To. Do.
I wwoofed for Cherie (Alex's friend who was house-sitting for him while he's away) and that was fine until she seemed to weltch on our deal (she feeds me and lends me a sleeping bag and tent for the summer) no tent and bag were forth-coming so i had to speak to her friends about it. Who were amazing. I was given (not lent) a pair of awesome headphones (the kittens used mine as a chew toy) and a sleeping bag and lent a very light weight tent and a roll mat by her friends who only met me twice.
Bless them.
But i was sick and tired on being in Levin when it was too hot to do anything so as soon as i got my iPod and other assorted xmas cards and money (i don't think i've thanked everyone for their generosity. Thank you). I escaped to the beautiful Coromandel.
Didn't get up to a lot there (did get a hitch with a drug dealer who drove like a man possessed) but i did go to one of the 10 most beautiful beaches in the world (photos when i can) and it was exceptionally beautiful.
Now i'm back in sunny Taupo where i will purchase supplies for the Burning Man festival which i have mentioned before. I'll be there for almost a week setting it up and then attending the event. If i feel up to it i will then make a b-line for the scape festival slightly further north. But i will probably be too fried and tired to do that and just make my way back to Alex's, then back to the south island. But who knows? Maybe plans will change again and i'll end up doing something else. At some point i will venture into the wilderness and do some tramping (now i have all the equipment) but maybe when the weather cools down a little
Sure there's more, but i have returned to the financial purgatory (?) of internet cafes, so stay in touch i miss you all

Chris
