GDay Everyone
Cairns was Fab so we were reluctant to leave to a place that was supposidly approx 45degrees C. We arrived at lunch time and the temp was 43C so not too bad. Hotel was very central so not too much walking. Folks, the heat was so dry that you hardly swetted, instead, your whole body heated up. Day 2 saw us getting a 6AM bus bound for ULARU, We arrived home at 1.45 the next morning, approx 20 hours. During that time, we experienced and saw loads od things, including a singing dingo, Emus, Camels and cattle on the road trying to slow us down. We also saw Wedged tailed Eagles and all opther sorts of beautiful birds. We travelled approx 1,100 KMs during the day accross some of the most barren desert we have ever seen. On the way to Ularu, we passed Mount Barron and the Olgas, the other two uplifts with Ularu. At the Olgas, Cher and myself did a 5.2Km walk to this viewing platform at 45C don,t forget, We drank both our water bottles dry and were so glad to see the bus that had loads of ice cool water. We also visited Ayres rock resort for a bite to eat and then had Champers and nice tucker , waiting for the sunset over Ularu. What an unforgetabble day we had, very tired at the end but incredible, PS we never saw 1 aborigine the whole day, not even in the cultural centre, odd.
We are now ensconced in Perth and in our eyes, the nicest Australian city we have visited, Tomorrow we have booked on a trip to Rottnest island, approx 1.5hrs steaming from Perth, where we hope to do some snorkelling, Cherry too.
Pictures to come from both Alice and Perth after Rottnest island
Until then, love to you all and Mick help yourself to any pics

Love from Cherry and me.

Hello
Sounds as though you are having a brill time. We hope to visit Perth and Fremantle next year. I never went to Uluru but saw lots of aboriginees in Karunda Queensland. Everything OK here except it is very wet and freezing cold too. Going to Dads tomorrow so will tell him all about your trip. Take Care, Maureen.
