Hey, Arrived in El Calafafe on Sat. Wandered around town - tried to do the lake hike but took some wrong turns and ended up on a few dead ends. The dogs from the hostel came with me - I loved having them with me - might get a dog when I move back!
Met Justin & Donie (BIFFOS!) for "one" which ended up being another very late one. Bars are not too wild in El Calafate and the town itself has not much going for it.
Went to the Perito Morreno GLacier on Mon - about 80 kms away. The bus was due to pick me up at 8.30... at 9am I asked the hostel girl if it was normal for them to be so late. She called the office and they had forgotten me. A mini bus came tearing up the roading five mins later and drove like a maniac ... yes chasing another bus. Bus had pulled into the margin a few miles out the road and I had to get on.... mortified, this time it was not my fault and the entire bus were probably cursing me for delaying them.. Ah well, got over it. Nobody knows me! The glacier was cool as you get to see the face of the glacier where it meets the water.
Went out with Cork and Dutch guy for dinner and drinks but kept it very low key - had a 5am bus picking me up---- see Lisa did learn her lesson!
Anyway bye bye Argentina for now... heading to Torres Del Paine in Chile. Lx
