(KL - Pangkor Laut Resort - KL)

We spent 4D/3N at this so called "One Island One Resort" multi award winning resort - Pangkor Laut Resort (by YTL).

Inland driving from Kuala Lumpur to Port of Lumut (State of Perak) took about 4 hours by taking the North South highway exit at Bidor. At Bidor, we have took the famours "Duck Mee" (a lot of people recommended). Anyhow to me, it is nothing surprise or special delicious (but if you passed by can have a try, the stall located in a "Kopitiam" along the main road, opposite Wisma Bidor).

I have been at this Lumut's port back to 10 years ago. Nowadays, the port is developed quite nicely and beautiful. We parked our car at this multilevel covered car park (it take RM 6 for a day) then proceed to the Pangkor Island Resort office (near to the port) for the registration and transit to the Resort. (High expectation on this luxury resort)

As see in the website’s slogan “One island one resort”, of course this is the only resort built in this island.

There are few choices of accommodation available (of course different price), range from Sea villa, Beach villa, Garden villa to Hill villa to full fill difference preference of individual. Apart from that, another great choice is the SPA villa which located in SPA village, a higher grade of accommodation. Of course the most luxury selection is the Suria & Purnama Suite as well as the Pavarotti Suite.

We have booked the Hill Villa, located on the hill side which surrounded by jungle but facing to the sea. 5 to 10 minutes walking distance from the lobby, there is no shuttle bus can directly drop you at the door in front. Every time have to clime ladder then take lift and walk to the villa. Anyhow, the environment is good, beautiful, and natural.

The interior room design is the modern design with some traditional malay style. A very special experience is by using the unique design bathtub with its half open air concept. The resort awarded as one of the Top 10 Romantic Destinations- one of the most romantic bathrooms in the world by Honeymoon & Romantic Travel Magazine, UK and also Five Star Diamond Award from 2002 - 2007.

Like other star class resort, Pangkor Island Resort also have the facilities like swimming pool (2 numbers at 2 location), Gymnasium, Tennis Court, Conference Hall, Gift Shop, a very nice & comfortable library with internet service. The common toilets within the resort have a great interior design. Emerald bay is the beach that away from the main building area, 5 minutes drive by the shuttle bus service. It is a nicer beach compare to the beaches in front of the lobby and villas.

At overall, the service provided by the resort is satisfied, 5 star service. However there are 2 times of miscommunication occurred. First, our package is 4D / 3N but the management though that is 3D / 2N. Secondly, we suppose to stay in Hill villa 2 for nights and 1 night at Garden villa. End up we spent 3N in Hill Villa, caused the management not alert on this booking. Some more, is me to inform the management that we want to continue stay in Hill Villa due to lazy to move the luggage.
