We're completely knackered! That's about all we can say! For some reason this past week has been incredibly busy. We had a hell of a start to our week on Monday. We went to catch the 7:30 am bus, but it never showed up! We ended up having to take a taxi to work when we realized the bus wasn't coming and we'd be late if we didn't do otherwise. We later found out that our bus had broken down on its way back from its previous run. On Wednesday night we were at the school by 7 am and then didn't leave until 8 pm. We both had to create exams for our year 12 class (Will had to make a Statistics exam and Bri had to make a Core 1 Algebra and Functions exam). The next morning, Thursday, we were at the school by 7 am again and then did not leave until nearly 9 pm because there was a year 12 information evening for students and parents wanting to get information on courses the kids can take if they choose to stay in school past the age of 16.
We did get some good news this week! Students in years 7, 8 and 9 had to submit application forms for their top 3 choices of activities to take part in during Activities Week in early June. The two of us, along with another Maths teacher from Australia decided to try and run a trip to Germany for Activities week. We ended up having 42 students sign up (maximum allowed is 44)! So, our trip has been approved and we'll be off to Germany for a week in June! What's even better is that our trip is free because we're the chaperones! A few things that we'll be doing on the trip include going to Cologne and visiting the Cathedral and chocolate factory. We'll also be going to Königswinter and Rhine Valley. The fourth day of the trip is a full day spent at Phantasialand (a theme park). The kids are most excited about the chocolate factory and Phantasialand, as you can probably guess. However, the sites are suppose to be fantastic. There are supposedly breathtaking views, castles and cliffs along the way as we travel. That's something we can look forward to even though it's over 6 months away!
We managed to book the final piece of our trip for the Christmas holidays. Last week we booked our accommodation in Berlin and Zurich, and then early this week we booked our accommodation in Paris. The four week countdown is on!
Here are are few more "English" words. Tipex = white out, ginger = red-head, tight = harsh, wellies = rain boots, well = very (eg. "Sir, that's well tight!" "Miss, that's well cool!").
That's all from us for this week. Keep in touch!

Staying another year?
The school year here doesn't finish until the end of July. We still haven't decided if we'll be staying for a second year. I think we have to make our decision by the end of April (but we're not completely sure!).
