Boca vs River
There were seats on the concrete steps at the start of the game... Hola all....
So approximately two months has past and iv spent most of it in Buenos Aires and southern argentina. It is now nearing the end of my 6 month adventure of south america and what iv seen and done I can hardly call any of it short of incredible! ... its been by far the most amazing experiences of my life and although I'd like to say it never has to come to an end ...for now I definately need a "break"!.. oh and of course some money... time to reaquaint myself with the words "work" and "early rise"..and possibly the phrase "back to the grind stone" encompases it all.
This is officially the last entry of my adventures however I will still be updating on what i am doing where I am .. although it may not be as interesting as the past 6 months... I am still keen to stay in touch with everyone!!!
So...Argentina..where to begin..by far the most amazing and homely city iv yet visited in all my travels including europe and south america... we began in hiring an apartment in Recoletta a rather ritzy side of town however safe and sound which
is what we were keen on as it was going to be for a month. In that time we did the site seeing things, visited San Telmo where most of the artists in Buenos aires come out to play and of course the camanito..where you find tango dancers in the street. We managed to squeeze in a soccer game between River and Boca two of the biggest teams in argentina which was short of insane..however definately got the heart pumping.. and visit Evita's grave..morbid however very interesting!!..
It has to be mentioned that in this time I made amazing friendships with three argentinians Luis, Nico and Fernando of whom brought me into their group of friends and families and treated me nothing short of a sister which was by far a highlight of argentina... they are featured in many of the photos and you will see why it was easy to love em...
I also travelled south through Puerto Madryn to so the great whales of the sea in mating season passing by on their way to antartica and the largest colony of penguins and sea lions in the world!! ..I continued on for another 20hour bus ride
to El Calafate where one of the largest glaziers can be found, 60m in hight above the sea level, 120m below and advancing 2m every day!!... following this I caught a bus boat and another bus for another 20hour haul to the end of the world, Ushuaia. The most southern city in the world.
The photos should say it all.. I loved south america but argentina will definately hold a special place in my heart.
amazing amazing amazing ..(because i dont think iv used the word enough!)..
Thankyou to all, and for the emails and updates..keep it up as il still be in touch!!
hugs and kisses all around.
Mel
