What happend here?
Yeah...so i tried to explain..but picture=1000 words Ok..
I will explane the picture later..but isn't it pretty crazy????
Anyways...Lloyd and I headed south of Dubruvonick through Bosnia...Yikes..just for a minute...and along the coast of Montenegro...The more southern of the the two...It was a beautiful bus ride...and we met a really nice Spanish couple who we hung out with in Bar for 5 hours while we watied for our train...the town of Bar sucked but we just chilled and hung out at the grocery store anf continued our search for "travel speakers." IE somthing we can plug into our ipods so we both can listen and what not..Lloyd and I decided to not make train reservations and because...Who does that? we're too good for that right? i mean we have rail passes we dont' need reservations...Everything was going fine and dandy...we had our own compartment...each of us had three seets to ourselves...we thought the ride would be chill. We would pass out and for 8 hours and arrive in Belgrade at 7 am...WRONG!!!! The next stop the train made...hundreds of people borded the train...they started yelling at us and pointing to their tickets...we didnt' know what was going on...we angrily got up and put our bags in the
Snoring man
Llod thinks this guy had Tuburculosis because he was snoring so loud...I slept fine...as you can see lloyd did not small, cramped...2 foot wide alley outside the cart. I was pissed, not knowing what to do...I said "Does anyone speak english?"
"Yes" a young girl replied.
"Are we going to have to stand the entire way?"
"Well do you have seating reservations?"
"NO!! Seating reservations? what are those? We need them?
"Yess you do? And if you don't then you're goin to have to stand"...Then she repeated to her friends that we didn't have seats. They all errupted in laughter. Lloyd and I decided it best to crack open a nice bottle of Croatian wine....Bad mistake. The Serbians Hate Croatians...After a while the surrounding people started to try and talk to us...and they eventually offered us their seats...well they offered me a seat....Lloyd actually ended up talking to this guy Alex for three hours and he only slept for one hour out of eight...and because he was siting next to MR. TB Being able to sleep anywhere is a skill I acquired form my mother and I thank her for it....Side note many of the Easter Europeaners chain smoke..even on trains in small confined compartments without even thinking about opening the door or window...thanks...
Ok we got to Belgrade found
a hostel checked the city out for a bit and then came back and passed out till 7pm...Alex the guy lloyd met on the train invited us to his friends 22nd birthday...It was an amazing experience, hanging out in this very very communist/minimulist apartment...having normal conversations with some serbians. At first they were a little aprehensive about us being americans...One guy llooked lloyd and then llooked me and said "You look a lot more American than he does."
I replied "Thanks, I'll take that as a compliment"
"It's not a compliment," he said. ouch
Though after a while guys like Dragan, Dsjerio and many other people who's names I can't pronounce warmed up to us. They host showed us old swords that his father had dug up in their backyard in Croatia before they had to flee for their lives in 1991. I met a lot of amazing people who have lived through war and an American Attack...As we passed a few government buildings on the way to the party. Allex pointed and said. T"he American's bombed that building and that other building. It is very impressive how accurate they can be." I had so much respect for these kids,
Scyrilic
This is not easy to read...Nor to find any address who were all in university, and were looking forward to not making more than 3,600 euros a year!!!
The reason for the party was Alex's friend's birthday and party, we did. The serbians have these ridiculious 2.5 litre bottles of beer that cost around a dollar....i think that's like 100 ounces of beer...The busses didn't start back up till 5 am so we had to stay at the party till then.
The next day I met a group of three czeck girls and on spanish girl who were traveling...Lloyd was in no condition to go site seeing so I invited myself along with them...
The spanish girl and I went to go see this giant church and when we were returning we saw a strange site. A trolley car with a steel rod sticking all the way through it. We then saw blood and a back pack strewn on the floor....glass everywhere...god only knows what happened...there was a big crowd...people were dumbfoudned...we tried to figure out what happend but my Serbian is a bit rusty and so the translation was lost.
We then headed down the street between crubling buildings and saw another accident..it seems as thought
MEAT!!!
Your average "Meat platter"...This piture was taken shortly before lloyd and I suffered massive heart attacks the trolley wheels somehow came off of the trolley from up the street and struck a bus... I felt as though I were in the twilight zone...There were smashed tomatoes inside the bus...I hope those people are alright. I still have no idea what happened but check out the pics...
Belgrade was an amazing place...Very inexpensive, the people are very very nice considering we did just bomb them less than 6 years ago...It felt a lot like Russia but different in a way I can't explain...There is a lot of potential there I just hope their economy somehow improves. Milosovich is now in prison in Den Hague being tried for the terible things he did.
After reading the guidebook Lloyd and I decided to go to Bucharest, Romania. People have said a lot of great things about this place....Update soon to come..We are running out of time and need to get to Turkey soon, but eastern Europe is just so Interesting and beautiful...

Silly Londie, Serbs are for... (enter joke of poor taste)
"my Serbian is a bit rusty and so the translation was lost." I'm ashamed that you can't remember any Serbian even after we took those 3 years worth at the Branson school. Your parents will be pissed. But seriously, well done on kicking ass in Europe, I wish I could be there, as London is great but I've seen enough and I'm ready to move on to new places. Hearing all your stories of meeting new folks and just straight chilling make me less anxious about hitting the road solo, aah! Well, I'll see you within the month man. Oh, I'm done for a good old fashion travel hazing, involving excessive liquor intake when we meet up. But we may be in an arab country where liquor is kindof outlawed, so we'll see....
