Just like in the old movies
On 09/28 we arrived in Monument Valley. After lunch, we returned to find a group of French tourists looking at our coaches. They asked a lot of questions, but were pretty nice about it. We also spoke with a couple from Germany who have a 26-year old German RV with 180,000 miles on it. They shipped the RV by boat to Halifax, Nova Scotia and drove all across Canada into the Yukon and down to the US and will end up in Tampa, where they’ll store their rig and fly back to Germany. We’ve met so many people who are RVing!

Chris drove us into the park in his 4-wheel drive truck. It was a dirt road with lots of bumps, and I felt like I was in a truck commercial. Again, we marveled at the monuments and took lots of pictures - summoning memories of old Western movies.

We planned to stop at the Four Corners monument (marking the borders of Utah, Arizona, Colorado, and New Mexico) on our way to Mesa Verde National Park in southwestern Colorado, but we got there just after closing at 6 p.m. Oh well, next trip.

We found an RV Park

near Mesa Verde and pulled in at dusk. There was a huge thunderstorm the day before with lots of hail and it was quite muddy. It was a trick to get in our spaces in the dark! The next day we visited Mesa Verde National Park and it was quite amazing - pictures to follow in the next installment.
