We finally left Rio for the extremley long journey to Santiago (we fly out from here to Sydney). Rio to Santiago flights were extremely expensive, so we decide to break the journey up by traveling via Argentina.
Rio to Foz Iguazu (brazil) = 3hr flight
Foz Iguazu to Puerto Iguazu (argentina) = 2hrs, 3 public buses
Puerto Iguazu to Buenes Aires = 18hrs, SUPER cama bus
Buenes Aires to Santiago = 22hrs, SEMI cama bus
When we eventually (!) got to Santiago we checked into Casa Roja Hostel (www.casaroja.ci) which was amazing...its an old manison converted into a hostel...swimming pool, bar, louge areas, kitchen...pretty impressive! The city itself is really nice, and cars actually stop when you try to cross the road!!
Its our last day in South America...we fly to Sydney Australia in a few hours...bring on the barbies and put the tinnies on ice!
Hasta Luego South America...
