Hello 😊 I was having problems publishing this blog so if you've had ten billion emails I apologise. If you haven't, well here you go!!!!

It's amazing how in the space of a few short days you can be on one side of Canada, then the other, then the other and then the other. The life of a flight attendant I suppose. This time however, it was a mix of business and pleasure. A work trip saw me swerve across the country ending up in St John's, Newfoundland. Newfoundland is full of history and has has a flair to it's European roots. Pubs abound and the people are happy and friendly.

I had enough time here to head out for a walk to Signal Hill. A well known sight in St Johns. The hill is part of the headland that curves into the natural harbour of St Johns. In 1762, English and French forces fought the last North American battle of the Seven Years' War on Signal Hill. The Cabot Tower on top of the hill looks out to the ocean beyond. I enjoyed a walk along the water, passing through a village community on the way. After walking around the hill, it was soon time to walk up the steep steps to get to Cabot Tower way up at the top. Unfortunately, the heavens opened whilst climbing and by the time I got to the top I looked like a drowned rat!!! Thankfully there was a tour bus at the top and in true Newfoundland friendliness, they gave me and my companion a lift down to the town below.

The following weekend saw Mike and I relocate from Vancouver over to Halifax for the weekend. We flew overnight and landed into Halifax Friday lunchtime. After a yummy lunch we slept and then got up for some seafood chowder as only Mike's Mum knows how to make. After dinner we made our way into downtown Halifax. We spent a lovely evening at the Economy Shoeshop pub - drinking Oland's and Schooners. Mike's friend Dave, originally from Scotland joined us. Later in the evening our good friends Brent and Jacqui came by. We hadn't seen them since they got married in July so it was great to catch up. Jacqui had to go home at a fairly decent hour - just after midnight. Brent, Mike and I trapsed home a bit later than that.

The next day we went back to the farm, after a wee sleep it was time for dinner. Annie and Deke came by and it was great to see them. The next day it was time to leave and make the long journey back to Vancouver. Always nice to go home and see family.
