Bob here.
So we're still in Bangkok. Yes, Royal Nepal Airlines owns two 747's and ours is broken. When we got to the airport two days ago, they loaded all the passengers from the flight into a minibus and drove us to a super nice hotel where we've been hanging out the last couple of days. The airline is paying for everybody to eat and sleep at the Hotel Alexander. No complaints here, we think its awsome, and the price is definitely right. We swam in the pool, which had a sign that said "no persons with some leprosy can do swimming here." Hilarious. But mostly we've been lounging in our room and hanging out at the mall next door.
The best part of our Alexander hotel experience so far was a huge lighning storm last night. We stood and looked out our window for hours and watched hundreds of lighning bolts and listened to the booming thunder. I've never seen anything like it. Super loud and super bright.
Tonight our flight leaves at eight. If the plane is fixed....
We'll check in later,
Bob and Kim
