After leaving El Calafate, it was hard to get into a rythm. We were so exhausted after the bus trip that when we came to El Bolson, we decided to stop here for a couple of days to recuperate. It was our longest trip yet. 28 hours!!!Not funny.
As it happens, El Bolson had the right reasons to stop over.
El Bolson is a hippy village where everything is so laid back and the people are so friendly.
The way it happened was that in the 60s, hippies came from the big cities and settled here to preserve the land and future generations. It is officially declared as "Zone Non Nuclear". Everything is organically grown by local people and they sell their products on the local market 3 times a week. It goes from beer hops to wild berries, vegetables and the best yogurt you could ever come across. Also it is renowned for its Rainbow Trout. The scenery is fantastic as well. Things to do here are: Rio Azul Valley, Cabeza del Indio and much more
After 2 days, it was time to head off to Bariloche in The Lake District. Only 2 hours away by bus.
As we got there, we got into our hostel "El Condor Andino" which proved to be ideal. It was there where I watched France beat NZ on one of the best matches ever.
Bariloche is beautiful. Endless mountains with views over the huge lakes. We were going to ski here but the snow wasn´t the best and also I wasn´t feeling the best. I came down with a nasty cold and a bit of temperature for a couple of days. Renata ended up going trekking by herself while I was in bed.
It´s much better now though.
We are staying here 4 days before we head to Chile across The Andes and this is it in Argentina. We managed to do the whole country in just a month. Obviously we didn´t go to every city but we did it from north to south visiting its main attractions.

rugby!!
Oh yes - i forgot to mention the Rugby!! Being in New Zealand, I obviously had to deal with a lot of hype about the France NZ game. You were lucky with such a useless referee! However, not so lucky against the good old British!!! OH YES!!!! Terrible shame!!
