So, many newses this week i think. Got to Midnight Espresso and got offered the job as a prep chef and was (supposed) to start on wednesday...
Did some more walking up the coast on a very pretty beach on saturday, then ended up drinking with a guy called gwyleim (not sure of the spelling, its welsh) in the evening. The guy is cool, but half way between a hyperactive puppy and a missile about to go off. Went to a death metal gig then on to a trance show, managed to get into both free somehow. Last time i saw him he was off his nut about to spend the rest of the evening dancing and chewing his ass off.
On sunday the weather was to terrible to do anything (the wind shakes the entire house! 100k an hour!). I was supposed to go to the 128 collective meeting on sunday night, be accepted as a caretaker and live in the house for a few months; but as with everything in life pretty women make life complicated (i didn't do anything bad!)...
When i first arrived at the house Julia was really nice and accepting to me, for a week we were good friends, then she started avoiding me, although i didn't know why. Soon after i started avoiding her too, because it made life easier and i thought we'd established a pretty good civil but not good friends situation, and i figured a friendship may come in time. On sunday however, she told me she didn't want to live with me. When pressed she said my gender politics is f*cked (what?) but offered no other good reason. Since then she's avoided talking to me, to the extent she has hidden in dark rooms to avoid me. So loyal fans, life in NZ is even more full of personal politics than the UK...However, it turns out she did almost exactly the same thing to another lady who lived in the house, Nicole, so its not necessarily a me thing. Crazy women=bad.
So i'm gonna leave town and stay and work in a sustainable community at the top of the north island in Golden Bay (apparently one of the most beautiful places in NZ) for 2 weeks. I know a couple people who've done the same thing and had a great time. Then possibly move on to a meditation centre being biult up the coast in the same area.
Can't think of any other news (went to a 'Free Bhuma' vigil, dear lord it was terrible) but i am going to a protest at a weapons confrence tomorrow at 8am, which will make up for not going to Dsei. The band isn't gonna happen (obviously) but no matter i can do it another time in another place. Went to see 8 foot Sativa the other day, really good if your into doomish metal

Keep in touch, Chris xx

I though with your vast experience of crazy women (starting with that girl from Barrow Island if i recall) you'd have worked out crazy women=bad by now! That sustainable community sounds very you though and i'm very muchg liking the randomness of your trip. I heard from Sean the other day - just missed him in Cumbria cos i'm back this weekend and he was last. Life in Manchester going well - I'm getting involved in Manchester lawyers shit ie going to to work then getting free drinks off law firms to meet other lawyers and playing football with them etc. with them. Most people at work excellent so far but most of mates from uni off travelling soon so soon Sean and I will b only people left in whole of the UK I think : (( Keep up the randomness : ))
