G'Day from Down Under!

G'day folks and greetings from a dull and wet Melbourne!

After a fantastic 4 and a bit weeks in Australia (starting in Cairns, renting a car called Shiela and driving down to Sydney before flying to Uluru and finally Melbourne) our time here is nearing an end and we are quite sad! Christopher arrived in Cairns the day after us to embark on a 5 week trip with 4 women and then when we reached Brisbane lovely Yvonne joined the Motley Crew of 5 women and one poor sod who will never be the same!

We are not going to boar you with the gorey details of the trip because the photographs will speak for themselves but here is a taster of what we have done since our touch down in Cairns on 12th September 2007:

* Quad Biking in Cairns
* Dived and snorkeled the Great Barrier Reef from Mission Beach
* White Water Rafting in the Tully Basin
* Sailing, sightseeing and Whale watching on the Whitsunday Islands
* 4 x 4 Driving on Frasier Islands 75 mile long beach, Frasier is the largest sand Island in the world
* Yvonnes arrival in Brisbane and lapping it up in 5 star luxury before slumming it as a backpacker (her not us!)
* Engagement Parties and ring hunting in Brisbane
* Party central in Surfers Paradise
* Beach relaxation with the hippies in Hervey Bay
* Prime seats at the NRL Grand Final in the Olympic Stadium, Sydney
* Meeting up with what seemed like half the population of Trim and Leixlip in Sydney and being spoiled rotten (5 BBQs in a row..score!)
* Touring the sights of Sydney in style (Opera House, Harbour Bridge, Bondi Beach, The Rocks, Taronga Zoo, Scruffy Murphys etc)
* Completing the 9.4km hike around Ayres Rock (the climb was closed) before darting for our flight to complete the 24 hour whistlestop tour
* Seeing "Priscilla Queen of the Desert" in the Regency Theatre, Melbourne
* Spending the shirts off our backs in order to keep up our reputation as "Flashpackers"

Oh my god you guys are having such an experience, who is writing the book when you return. Like some other comments we all want a look at the rock, congrats by the way from all in HP. Looking forward to the next lot of photos

Hey Trish... Thanks for your message! All still having a ball - only a few more days until we loose one of our crew though, Jillian is heading to meet her parents in San Fran so 4 will become 3!
