Goodbye, North AmericaGoodbye, North AmericaGoodbye, North America

Our last northern hemisphere sunset for quite a while
Wow! We are in SOUTH AMERICA!!!
We arrived in Lima after a 5 hour flight from Mexico City, great flight with LAN Airlines, the plane was half full, we had lots of room. Yesterday we went to the Miraflores district which is the nicest part of Lima, we had a walk alon the clifftops overlooking the beach and ocean. Today we explored the central district, lots of old churches and cathedrals and fantastic architecture. We also went to the catacombs at Monestaria de San Francisco where we saw the bones of 20,000 people who have been laid to rest there. Interesting in a macabre kind of way.

We have an early start tomorrow as we fly to Iquitos in the Amazon Jungle. We are going on a 4 day jungle expedition, then its onto Cusco and Maccu Piccu.

Not had a chance to try the local speciality yet = Guinea Pig! maybe soon though. We are also trying to get tickets for a footie game whilst here as its the under 17s World Cup!!!

Hope this blog finds you all in the rudest of good health,

Pip pip,

Guy and Rachel xxx
