Rouen (Juno beach & Falaise d'Etretat)

We ended up renting a car for the few days that we were here in Rouen, so we actually never really spent too much time in Rouen itself, our hotel was about 20 minutes (or so they said) outside of Rouen. The first day it took us over 2 hours trying to find our hotel, google maps did not help what so ever! Google maps has everything based on road names but over here all the directions are based on city/village directions. For example to get to Bourg-Archard (small village) where hotel was located we had to pass through 3-4 other small villages on the way, Bourg-Archard wasn't even on our map, we had to stop at a restaurant to ask for directions. It was pretty stressful for Jordan as the navigator while Kathie drove. "I thought you said you could drive a standard!"

Juno Beach

Here we visited the Canadian memorial, and had a picnic lunch on the beach. Very moving experience, imagining what happened June 6, 1944.

Falaise d'Etretat

We stumbled on this place by accident, saw a picture in the guide book, and thought hey that place looks neat! We took a tonne of pictures, and couldn't decide which ones we liked better, so we posted a whole lot!

We also found this great Pizza and Creperie Restaurant, which we ended up going to both nights we were in Rouen. Falaise d'Etretat is about 70 minute drive on the Autoroute from our hotel, over 2 hours if you get lost trying to avoid the autoroute (tolls) while driving at night.

AAAhhh driving a standard!!....
I remember teaching each other to drive a standard!!!!! Wasn't it your dad's Ranger??!!! No surprise that driving a standard in Europe would be a bit sketchy!!! LMAO Great pics guys!!!
