We woke up to see Spakes Weavers & Olive Thrushes over the hotel gardens then after breakfast we met up with the rest of the Dragoman group, Steve & Tim our guide/chefs/drivers/mechanics, Justin, Maria, Mark, Jason, Nathan, Tracy, Liz, Kate, Naomi, Lizzy, Leroy, Robin, Tom, Butch & Barbara, the rest of the gang. We then went to the Nairobi Museum behind our hotel which had an excellent Joy Adamsen exhibition including paintings of all the Maasai tribes. After lunch we moved to our first camping stop (Nairobi Upperhill campsite) where a couple of the group went shopping for provisions while the rest of us familarised ourselves with the tents (ours is called Waterfall). Once we had worked out how to use the zips & inflated our bedding paraphernalia we made our way over Narobis pot hole ridden roads to the giraffe sanctuary where orphaned & injured giraffe are kept until they can be released. Other wildlife spotted were: warthogs, yellowbilled kite, pied flycatcher & redbilled firefinch.

Drink of the day: Tusker Lager

Glad to hear you've got off to a good start. the weather is truly deteriorating here and selection boxes are in the shops so thinking of you in a hot place is just what we need to get our jealousy genes fired up. keep enjoying it.
