A large deserted decrepit old castle sits atop a hill that overlooks Matlock. We decided to drive up and take a closer look. Apparently a few years ago it used to be an animal park. Nowadays there are only wild rabbits, and Mum and dad were lucky enough to see a fox hunting one of them down. I was to busy looking through all the ruins, it was quite eerie and parts of it reminded me off the castle on the movie Labyrinth. I think it would be an awesome place to go camping with your mates. Either that or a setting for a horror film.

There is a castle
Amazing and beautiful photos. So there really is a Matlock castle? Rumor has it that one of the brothers were sent on his way or kicked out of the castle and sent on his way to America. All heresay and makes a good story. My maiden name is Matlock. Thanks for allowing the public photos.
