Here in Dar Es Salaam, I work at the International School of Tanganyika. I have a HUGE grade 5 classroom, where I teach 20 rowdy 10 year olds. It is wonderful! As hot and sweaty as things can get out here (temperature-wise), my classroom has two ACs, and plenty of cool shade. I've attached a load of pictures so that you can see where I spend my time from 6:30am-2pm Mon-Friday. Pictures of the students and Apartment to come soon!

This is my Welcome to the New School Year Bulletin Board, as well as the front door of my classroom. There are about 6 sets of windows to the right of the door and another 6 on the other wall around the corner. Talk about natural light!

The school hand paints our name plates for our classroom doors... how cool is that?!

Here you can see my desk, the front of the room, some student desks, and the wall directly next to the front door. This is three times the size of my last classroom!

Continuing around in 360degree panoramic style, next you can see the other side wall, more student desks and some of my reading shelves. (and the oh so wonderful AC unit)

My HUGE bulletin boards (don't worry, I have an Aid that puts them up and decorates them for me) and my reading couch and carpet area.

The back of my front door, etc. Basically, a view from the other side of the room. As big as it might look, it's five times bigger. Don't worry, our first Unit this year is "Who Makes the Decisions?" and the students get to decide how to arrange all of the furniture in the classroom. Things may be completely different in one month's time!
