LAS VEGAS
Me on the edge of the world Yeeha!! Viva Las Vegas!! The girls all got here eventually after having lots of problems on the way i.e their flight being over-booked and delays etc. I arrived at Las Vegas before any of them and checked into our hotel, New York New York, and jumped about on the bed for a while as i had suddenly found myself in the height of luxury after 5 weeks of hostel experience. Our room is great and we even have an ice machine outside the door...... I have died and gone to heaven! We had a couple of drinks on the first night and had a look about our hotel but everyone was shattered with jetlag so we had an early night.
We were up early the next morning, like 5.30am, and so headed out early to try and see as much as possible as we only have a couple of full days here and we want to visit the Canyon. So we exhausted ourselves visiting The Venetian, The Excalibur, The Bellagio, The Paris Hotel, Mandalay Bay, The Luxor and Caesars Palace. We were shattered after that i can tell you. Its too much to get round all in one day as

Bellagio Fountains eventually one casino begins to look like the next. However we were impressed by many of the hotels, they are so over the top, its everything we thought it would be!
We arrived back to our room about 6.30pm and planned on going for a snooze for just 1 hour then having a few drinks. I didnt wake up till 10pm! I tried to wake the girls but they were out cold so i just left them as we were up early the mext day for our trip to the Canyon. I went out for a walk on my own, took some pictures and went into the MGM which i hadnt been into yet. They have a huge glass cage which has lions in it at certain times of the day but i didnt see them.
Started off early the next day for the Grand Canyon. It truly was spectacular and breath taking. It was what i expected and more. For some reason i was totally shocked to get up there and find that there wasnt any barriers to stop you from toppling over the edge!! You could just take a wrong step and you would be gone!

Us dolls in New York New York We had a not very spectacular lunch right on the edge of the canyon all we didnt know it at the time. You can see our lunch tent in the photos. Words really cannot describe how it feels to be up there looking into the canyon, truly amazing! It was a great experience, afterwards we went to a working cowboy ranch which was fun. We asked the cowboys what they do when the ranch is closed during winter season and he said " we shoe horses and stuff". There were some cowboys really getting into the swing of things with the whole moody attitude. Also met Norman the bull, the grandson of Norman from City Slickers. He is very famous in this neck of the woods!
When we got back we were shattered but were determined to go out partying so we did! Went to Coyote Ugly which was a bit weird at first. Standing around watching girls gyrate on the bar when your sober is a strange one for us girls but once we'd had a couple of drinks we were almost up there with them :-)
Left there and went to a piano bar where Kat met

too close to the edge for comfort really!! this guy called Mike and a couple of his friends. They hit it off immediately, before the end of the night he proposed, she accepted, we had a hen and stag do and i tell you they almost got hitched in the chapel of love. We had a great night and the whole hotel was convinced they were getting hitched! Our bar closed ( i thought this was 24hr city??) so we went across to the MGM for more alcohol which we could have done without. Judy and I went to bed about 5am and where sound asleep when the other two came up and so they had to get security to let them and then had to hunt in the dark for passports to show ID. I dont think we were to too popular with the night shift! We had to check out a few hours later to catch a flight to San Diego which wasnt pretty.
So we had a great time all in all in Vegas and we would definately go back for a weekend. 3 days just wasnt enough, definately needed another couple to see everything. We never even got on the roller coaster which was

The strip at night is amazing in our hotel!!
As a footnote, the only downside was that on the day i arrived i used the bedroom phone to call home. I was on the phone for no more than half an hour and it cost me over 100 pounds. Yes pounds not dollars!! I am almost passed out when i went to pay it :-)
