The sun has made it to the UK! Since I have arrived in Europe there has been very few moments of sunshine, today I am glad to say that Cambridge was rather full of sunshine and it was beautiful.

I have hung around a bit with Julie and Kevan and the kids, walking around the city, going to thrift shops and antique shops, picking the kids up from school, a recital at school, played at local parks and yesterday and an hour today I helped at the CD stall in the Market. I have felt very comfortable here in Cambridge and as if I was with family. I have always thought of Julie as being an Aunt to me anyhow, so it has been very nice to be here with her and her beautiful family. I have eaten amazing home cooked meals and delicious treats. It will be quite a change when i get on with my traveling.

Yesterday, as I said, I helped work in the Market at their CD stall business. Selling music to people is quite a cheerful job and it says itself really. People know what they are interested and are excited to buy it, I am just the middle girl. I loved getting to people watch and listen to the many languages and accents that surrounded me as people shuffled through the music to find their favorites. I got to talk to many people too and that is always fun for me. After the day was through I managed to find my way back to the house, asking one person along the way. If I have not mentioned, their home is adorable here. They live in an old school house from the 1800's and it is this tiny building with sooo much character. They live on the end in the head masters quarters, the actual school house attached to it is now 4 other small homes. I love this place.

This morning we went to the Market to take a CD shipment to Kevan that got delivered to the house and not him. Julie and the kids and I walked together to the Market, sharing the load of carrying the box. The walk is rather delightful really and you pass many walks of like on the way. When we got to the market we got some treats and checked out the other vendors to see what was out today. I got a pane chocolate and a mango smoothie (like 8 oz for a medium lol). OHHH Yesterday I tried a Mushroom and Cheese Cornish Pasty and it was delicious!!! I actually like these English foods. While at the Market i called Narinder, the friend I made on the train. We made a plan to meet at noon in the square at the pasty place so in the meantime I helped sell with Kevan.

Narinder and her son Arun came and we walked around to run a few short errands before heading through the town and to their car that was parked at the council. Arun and Narinder drove me back to their home in Huntingdon, a very beautiful neighborhood that must have the widest road in Cambridge. They have a very nice home with a lot of space and a large yard. They raise hens that lay eggs for the family to eat and also bees to get their own honey. I love it. Narinder makes everything homemade (jam, bread, honey, herbs...) She made me a wonderful lunch, including an omelete with the eggs from the back and some traditional Indian Milk tea that I put the fresh honey in. I was in heaven. We talked for awhile and I got to know her children a bit, before long narinda, Reesha and I left to go out punting. Punting is similar in a sense to kayaking or rowing on a river but the boat is wood, you stand and use a long pole to maneuver (more similar to riding a Gondola in Venice). We drove to the center and then walked through the colleges to get to the backs where the river is. We rented our own punt for the 3 of us for an hour. We had quite a tough time steering it around and I have no clue how many times other punts ran into us. Although trying to move it around and going in circles is a bit of a bummer, it is beautiful and relaxing. It was a super experience for all of us. Reesha was the best at it, I was worst. The view along the river is gorgeous and something I would love to do again. We saw a couple of brides and grooms getting guided rides and even a couple with a table and a full dinner and wine on their punt. I reccommend it to anyone coming through the city. After our hour we took a quick pic together and the girls headed to their car and I walked home. Julie had a lovely dinner ready for me (greek salad and boiled artichokes- mmmm so fresh and great for a sunny day) and then she left out to go meet Kevan at a pub. The kids are asleep and I am catching up with you all now.

I leave on Tuesday to Dublin, I will be taking a 4-5 hour train ride through the countryside of England to Holyhead and then a 3 hour ferry boat to Dublin. I am only doing that because it is only £26 ( I will save close to $100 ) because the plane flight is rather pricey now. Although I do not look forward to the motion sickness, it will be very cool. Narinder gave me a fresh ginger root today to eat or make tea with for the ride and also she is letting me borrow a very packable rain jacket like the one I had stolen for my trip. She said I can send it back when I get home. I am so grateful for all the wonderful people I have met along the way and of course to the ones I already knew. I feel so lucky right now and it keeps getting better.

Again I hope this finds you all well.

😊 XOOXOX

I'd Rather Be Punting. . .
Hello! So I went kayaking last weekend. It was awesome. We'll have to do that when you get back. But it was an adventure. I launched off the beach into open water with a buddy, so we made it over the first wave, but the second one hit us and totally flipped the boat. So it washed him, me and the boat up the shore. It also washed away my sunglasses. But your pictures continue to amaze. That looks like a lot of fun, and what a beautiful part of the country! Geeze, and I thought UCLA was beautiful, look at Kings College. (named for me of course) love ya! cpk
