Nic and I said our goodbyes to Tori and her family; they were off to London. We set off to see the rest of the sights in Paris. Our first stop was the Louve. This is the largest art museum in Europe. It houses the original painting of the Mona Lisa, and many other works of art. Just the outside of this museum was impressive. After that, we bought a ticket for the sight seeing bus. This was one of the best deals. We rode the bus around the city on the open top second deck and saw every thing. We were able to get off at any destination and hop back on at our leisure. At the Notre Dame Cathedral, we saw riot police and protestors gathering. Of course, we had to get off there to see what would happen. We sat around for nearly an hour and nothing happened. We still don’t know what the protest was about. Out of all the sights, my favorite was the Eiffel Tower. It was impressive to see how this structure was built. We wondered the nice streets and allies and grabbed a bite for lunch. Everyone we had met so far seemed very nice and helpful.

In the afternoon, we drove to our hostel. We were in for a shock. If Paris had a ghetto, we were staying the night there. Before we could check in, we had to make it past the two big security guards at the front door. We got our room and headed out for the night. We decided it would be a good idea to take all of our valuables with us. For security reasons, we had to leave our key at the desk when we went out. Anyways, we rode the bus back into Paris. We were definitely out of place. We were like two Catholic marshmallows floating in a mug of Muslim coco.

Paris was by far more impressive at night. We took a boat ride to see all the bridges and major attractions lit up. We ate a tasty crape for dinner and then headed back to the “hood”. We survived the night.

Wow Paris is really pretty especially at night like you said. Glad that you were ok in "the hood"!
