Hey there!

Its funny how friends from back home are telling how all they do is work and stuff and at the same time tell us to enjoy our wonderful time here. True, we are enjoying the time here but it is quite the same as home. Working 5 days of the week doesn’t really make you feel you’re in a vacation… So in fact none of the news in this blog are touristy but about very normal life activities.

Carolina got a job at a call-center and has now worked almost 2 weeks there. They have a good team there and she enjoys it. She gets to talk on the phone the entire time she’s there, which she said is quite exhausting. She gets 20 hours per week, and she wants to earn more money, so she has a job interview for a surf clothing store on Saturday morning. She hopes to get a weekend job and extra hours for the week.

My hours have increased at the hotel doing reception and portering. Its work and that suits me well.

We had a party in our house with our housemates last Saturday. We had a blast! You can see from the pictures that everyone is having a good time. Everyone invited their friends and we got a good crowd. We showed everybody how we party in Finland or actually in Vaasa.

I found a floorball group playing in Brisbane online and gave them a call and they invited me to play. I went to play for the first time yesterday and boy was it fun. Its been more than 7 months since the last time I had touched a floorball stick and I got hooked again though my entire body is feeling the exercise now. Ill be going to Brisbane for at least once a week to play.

It’s winter here now and we are feeling it. Last weeks were so COLD. I had to wear a jacket in the middle of the day. That’s cold here on the Gold Coast. We are lucky to have a heater in our room. The last few days however have been quite warm. Yesturday the temperature reached 27 degrees. Today its been sunny and warm but so windy.. I hope it wont get cold anymore.

It’s Thursday today and the night to see stand-up comedy. We found out that they have free comedy every Thursday at the Conrad’s Casino, and we’ve tried to get there every time. Its been really fun every time.
