Well I must say that today has been the most tranquilo 4th of July that I have ever had. I walked around the city for a bit and then retreated back to my program's office to do some more research for my mine and my sister's trip. She is coming down in 9 days, I'm am SO excited to see her!! We are going to La Paz, Bolivia; Cusco and Lima, Peru, and Buenos Aires, Argentina. I am also thinking about going to Uraguay, it is pretty close to Buenos Aires. I can't wait to get going!
But today I went to a local pub and watched Chile tie to Mexico in the Copa America. I don't know if they will continue in the cup seeing as Brazil won to Ecuador. And sadly the only fireworks I saw were during the game, but hey, at least I got to see fireworks!
But the majority of my friends left last Saturday, it was weird to see them go. We all came here together and fought to break ouselves into the Chilean culture, we all had to deal with the micros, and our crazy stories became everyday occourances. It also made me think what it will be like when I go. I figured it out, my time in Chile and South America will be 2%!o(MISSING)f my life that I have already lived, 2%!o(MISSING)f 19 years and 10 months. As much as I miss the U.S., my home, my family, and my friends, I am going to miss Chile, Valparaiso, my host family, and my friends. Before my friends left we were talking about how kind our host families have been and how we may never see them again. I know I want to come back to Chile sometime after I graduate, I find that there is no way I can't, it has become a part of my vida. I also can't really imagine how life will be at home, I feel like everything will amaze me. It's weird, I never thought going back to my life would be scary. Leaving my comfort zone became my comfort zone. I can't wait to get home, but at the same time, it will be hard to say goodbye. Cachai?
Well that's all for now. I love you all and will be seeing you soon. I'm back in California in less then a month and a half! Chao!

How Awesome!
Hi, My name is Andrea, I am from Massachusettes and I am going to be leaving for Chile in less than two weeks. I will also be staying with a host family. What kind of program did you do down there? I will be teaching in Copiapo. If you can think of anything, do you have any recommendations? Things to bring, what to do, what to see? You sounded like you really liked your stay. Hope to hear from you. Andrea SomewhereIBe@gmail.com
