Sarah Ballard Day #2 in the field: Happy Canada Day!

We missed all the town festivities because we were out on the delta. But from what we heard I probably would have prefered to be out on the delta anyways. We did get cake, which a local woman bakes, when we got back😊 The weather was better then yesterday, but still not as nice as the first two days I was in Inuvik. We visited 3 different lakes in the delta today. 2 of them were not attached and we had to pick up the canoe from the lake it was being stored at and transport it to the new lakes. I love canoeing, it is so relaxing! I think I will do more when I am back home...Anyone interested in joining me???

I took more pictures of the lakes today because there was no RAIN. Today we found green SEA MONKEYS in one of the lakes (fairy shrimp), they were so helpless when flipped on their backs😞

I miss everyone and I hope you all have a wonderful Canada Day!

Hey Sarah, I like your pictures. The scenery is beautiful. It sort of looks like home with the trees and lake, but not really because the river delta area is flat as opposed to mountainous. Are you living in the float house? We should go on a canoeing adventure when you get back and go find "Mer beach...." The fishy is doing well. But the tank is getting a bit warm.. Should I be doing water exchanges?
