So here we are, in the center of Buenos Aires. The trip was LONG, but well worth it. We both had 8 hour layovers, mine in Miami and Mark's in Houston, followed by nine hour flights in Buenos Aires. We did well at entertaining ourselves by going to gates with flights to cool places and people watching. Finally, we met back up in the Buenos Aires airport and got a taxi to the hostel. The hostel, Portal Del Sur, is awesome. The people who work here are fun, young and helpful.
After checking in, we went on a short walk of the neighborhood, which happens to be 'El Centro', which is the happenin district in the city. After a five hour nap, we finally rid ourselves of the 27hour trip lag. We decided to start the trip of right and get some Argentinian steak and Wine. At the recommendation of a guy who works here, we went to a restaurante called 'Des Nuevo'. It was awesome, with chefs on grills right in the dinning area and friendly folks waiting on us. We got a bottle of local Malbec, the most popular wine in the area. After a few drinks,

we recieved our food, which was muy delicioso. A few MORE drinks later, the tourists started to leave and the locals came to eat, at like 11pm.
After we felt like we spent enough money, we returned to the hostel, had a few beers and passed out. After sleeping through breakfast this monring, we decided to go out and get some grub. Our search for food turned into a 4 hour walking tour of the city. It amazing! Huge plazas everywhere with cafes and cool old buildings everywhere. Since it's winter here, its a bit cold....but we're from Boone, so we're used to it!
We got to practice our spanish by buying hats, adapters and cafe con leche. Eventhough Mark pretends not to know spanish, he's kicking ass. I guess its true that it all comes back when it has to! Alright, well here are some pics to look at, and thanks for reading! Hasta Luego, Marko and Halley
PS...there are people waiting for the computer but we'll uplaod more pictures when we can!

Have fun
Hi Halley, It looks like you're having a great time. I just had some friends come back from a trip to Buenos Aires and they really enjoyed it. They were amazed at how inexpensive things were compared to the U.S. Send a picture of the palace balcony where Evita and Madonna stood ;o) Seriously though, thanks for the blog and the pictures, it's fun to follow along on your travels. Everyone here in NC is fine. I look forward to your next entry. XOXO, Marco
