It's a beautiful morning here in Half Moon Bay! We slept in (bliss!), then topped off the water tanks, checked the propane and went to have breakfast ashore. We stopped by to see Leland working on Irene and met a pal of his who used to work with Carl Sagan. He's setting off to sail to the North Pole as soon as the ice breaks up. The characters here are so colorful they make your eyes hurt.

I've found this sweet little cafe to send out some blogs, and Harry and I will leave the dock in about an hour. Peter has hooked into a rental car and will travel back to Eugene to jump back into the real life. Bon Voyage and be safe, Peter!

I spoke on the phone with Shayla yesterday and she and her Dad have traveled to visit family in San Francisco. She's only about a half-hour away! I'll wave at her as we pass under the Golden Gate later today.

We're well rested, well provisioned and ready for the sea. Harry and I hope to reach Crescent City by tomorrow afternoon, sailing straight through.
