Summer has been a washout really hasn't it, The longest day of the year is upon us already and life has slipped by another two months since my last post here. I am stuck between my loyal posting to this site and the ease at which I can keep in touch with people on Facebook.
Somehow this seems more private to me as I can easily unload how I am feeling and people have to read it to get the real meaning of a particular post anyhow I digress.
What has been going on in my life you may ask. Those that keep close contact know and for those that don't, We are getting excited each passing day as our adventure together draws closer and it is a constant source of motivation to not go out, spend money or try not to drink. The more money we can save now those days away will be so much more enjoyable to relax and spend what we want. Mhairi is amazing and is always so positive about our trip and life in general I am so lucky to have met her when I did and it really has changed the way
Whisky aged Beer
Yummy with Haggis my life has been directed I would never had imagined living in Scotland and one thing it has brought me to is my Dad.
Living with my Dad has been great, we have not fallen out which was a big fear of mine as I have never spent this much time with him in such close proximity, but my fears have not been realised, My Dad has never asked a penny from me since living with him and I can't express how much that has helped in short " I would not be going travelling if it were not for ny Dad". That is a huge huge financial burden taken away from me.
We have not been away together as much as we would have liked but work and commitments get in the way hopefully before I go we can have a couple days in Glencoe before I leave.
The highlights of this summer have been touch rugby every Wednesday which has seen my competiveness side rear its head much of a suprise to Mhairi!!. It has been good playing a different sport which I have not done before,
Diving has not played a part in
my life since last July.....I miss it so much last dive was with Chris at Sharks Cove that was good, I have started swimming again so that I am able to get in the water in Hawaii and Thailand and not feel like a complete muppet.
The days as far as I am concerned could not go quicker which is not the best way to think but the anticipation of leaving to visit friends and places again is building up in me. I look forward so much to seeing Mhairi's reactions when we go to these places together I want these five months to last and make sure that every day counts.
The things I am most looking forward to in the coming weeks is Chris and Morgan coming to see me in Edinburgh, I value Chris and his friendship so much. Only after being away so much do you realise what friends will do or in some cases not do for you, Keeping in touch is so important and so easily not done by many people.
Meeting Mhairi will be very important for me as well as not that I need Chris's blessing but it
is nice to know that someone that you have spent so much time with will want to spend more time with you and your new partner, Mhairi is looking forward to meeting Chris and Morgan also as she has not met them yet either, nearly all my other friends have met Mhairi and they have all gotten along great.
Craig and Lisa were here in Edinburgh also and seeing Craig was very much as important time for us as well, Craig has not had the easiest last four years and the closing of his case late last week has provided a much needed lift for him and his family. Craig and Lisa had a good time here seeing the castle and all that Edinburgh had to offer.
Well to wrap this one up life is swinging along nicely and to be honest I have no real complaints, I have a wonderful woman in my life, my parents are well, my friends are healthy and life is in general good.
Hope everyone is well out there and hopefully see some of you soon.

You have come a long way from the little boy I knew and am glad I now know the nice young man you have now grown into. I am one of the lucky ones in having met Mhairi and what is there not to like. Have a great time on your travels together and hope you do not hear any bad stories about my son when you get to Hawaii Love A.A.
